A brand new whatsapp update will going to change the it was backupng you content, I think it is doing to save your memory and also to make chat backup more secure so that no one can use without your permission.

So Facebook owned social app will start deleting you some of the chat, photos and videos from the November 12, 2018. As we know whatsapp was using google drive to back up your content. but due to some changes in google policy the whatsapp will be unable to use the drive storage for backup.

WhatsApp back-up will not build use of the Google Drive cupboard space. Backed-up messages, photos, and videos of the country can still stay on Google Drive however they will not count towards the storage limit of the user.

The bad thing about this is, if you haven't  backed up your content for over a year your old content will completely hidden from your Google drive. You will unable to recover it. so better download the backup and save it in a hard drive.

WhatsApp says, "Starting November twelve, 2018, WhatsApp backups can not count towards the Google Drive storage quota. what is more, WhatsApp backups that haven't been updated in additional than one year are going to be automatically aloof from Google Drive storage."

What to do to save your Backed-up content?

As per the notice you have to manually backed up your content before 12th November 2018, Whatsapp chats and media can be backed-up on google drive.

WhatsApp recommends " connecting your phone to Wi-Fi prior to backing up your chats via Google Drive, as backup files can vary in size and consume mobile data, causing additional charges."

In an Email to user Google written "Due to a new agreement with Whatsapp whatsapp will no longer count as Google drive storage quota ". But keep in mind any of the whatsapp back-up that have not been updated in more than a year will automatically  be removed from its storage.
